I hold a Master of Applied Science in Evidence-Based Coaching Psychology (University of Sydney) and Bachelor of Education (Adult Education).
I founded Powerhouse Coaching in 2003. By 2007 my niche was leadership coaching. By 2009, my work included CEO Coaching and C-Suite Coaching. In 2013 I relocated from Sydney to San Francisco, incorporating Founder Coaching in 2016. I am based in Greenwich, CT, just north of New York City.
I was formerly Director of Professional Standards and then President, International Coach Federation (ICF) Australasia leading over 1,300 coaches. I have also studied Coaching Supervision through Oxford Brookes University.
I am humanistic, pragmatic, and grounded in research. My motive is help you to know who you are, and be that on purpose.
These experiences have shaped me into a CEO Coach with depth and discernment. I bring structure when needed, and space when that is wiser.
It was not my intention to become a CEO Coach. I have simply found that the most intelligent leaders are the ones I enjoy and impact the most.
Years of working with executives impacted by their CEOs’ health or dysfunction gave me great insight into what truly makes a leader.
I am trustworthy, non-judgmental (but discerning) and non-competitive. I trust my intelligence and experience, but I am not wedded to it. I value working with leaders who enjoy debate in service of finding the best solution. My role is to be the person behind the leader.
I’ve coached leaders of dozens of nationalities. Within the United States, West Coast leaders often bring visionary ambition, whilst those on the East Coast tend to ground that ambition in pragmatism and substance. I appreciate – and work well with – the strengths of both. Now based in Greenwich, I continue to support executives nationwide, both in person and virtually.
As a CEO Coach, what impresses me most is honesty, introspection, and responsibility; your willingness to learn, experiment, and do the work.
A great coaching partnership comes from mutual respect, admiration, and trust. If you’re ready to see yourself more clearly, act on those insights, and sacrifice comfort for growth, we will be a powerful partnership.
If you choose, I will be your biggest champion, your clearest mirror, and your trusted confidante.
Most clients call me Kate. I’m an avid reader (literature, non-fiction, and research) and traveler who was raised in Australia.
Happily married, I’ve lived around the world. From 2013 to 2025, I was based in San Francisco and Palo Alto – now Greenwich, CT and New York.
I’ve always been curious. My mother was an avid reader and I would borrow her books on popular psychology from the age of 14. My father encouraged me to read professional development from the age of 18.
I discovered coaching in 2002 when it was a relatively new industry. Curious but skeptical, I found my first coach. By the end of my first session, I had greater clarity than I’d had in years.
By 2003, my coach was seeking my input on his coaching program. He encouraged me to undertake my first coach training and become his “protégé.” I’ve always been grateful to him for that push.
Over time I’ve become increasingly rigorous and committed to what works. My Masters degree in Evidence-Based Coaching Psychology deepened that rigor.
As a CEO Coach, it is my responsibility to be discerning about what is trustworthy and legitimate. And there are many ways to cut the Gordian Knot.
I particularly enjoy working with clients who have a faith of any kind, as this deepens the work – and a sense of humor, as that helps us learn.
I am an INTJ and value wisdom, timelessness, strength, freedom, joy, and love. I am inspired by psychology and human excellence, mature leadership and acts of courage, the well-written, art, photography, architecture, and design.
I am drawn to the beautiful and the good – or, as it relates to you, quality and integrity.
